ROBY JOE + FACE MAKEUP ARTISTRY
The Concept /
I love it when we have the opportunity to work on photography projects with planning and a budget to create the shoot! Where we can develop a concept, building an idea from scratch. We teamed up with local Western Kentucky fashion designer Roby Joe for the styling and wardrobe, alongside Erin Hendley with FACE Makeup Artistry for Makeup. Our goal was to make a portfolio of advertising images for senior portrait photography, showcasing Roby Joe's clothing line. One of my favorite parts of this project was balancing the aesthetics to meet each artists goals! Scroll down for 'How it Was Made.'

How Was it Made?
In making this image we started with our camera on a tripod. We framed the photo's composition and had Shelby standing in a box we often use for portrait sessions. In the final finishing we had to modify the shadow behind Shelby so something smaller to stand on would have definitely been easier! We ended up using four images to create the final in post production. One photograph for Shelby, the umbrella, the background, and the paint cans.
Some intense Photoshop went into making the composite as seamless as possible. The hardest part to get perfect was wrapping the new paint tones in the background to the texture of the brick. In total the advertisment took over 100 layers to create!
