TIM JAEGER GALLERY OPENING / EVENT + PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

We recently photographed Tim Jaeger's opening at the Bill Ford Gallery located in the Paducah School of Art & Design. We captured some portraits of Tim in his "business suit" as well. This project was definitely one that I had a personal interest in working on. Growing up, Tim, used to watch my brother and I on evenings and weekends, and has always been one of the people that influenced me the most to pursue my passion for art.

His exhibition, Tim Jaeger: 10, started on June 9, 2017 and will run through July 21, 2017. The show features paintings, drawings, and mixed media artwork that features an expansive range of ideas. Which all consists of work created over the last decade. His most recent work included in the exhibition visually interprets the nostalgea, memory and visceral appeal of "Old Paducah." Which has helped to define our history and community and continues to live on in our minds.

From a photographer's perspective, the new space at PSAD was inspiring in itself. It's a tremendously beautiful & impressive space. Photographing Tim's colorful art against the monochromatic backdrop of the gallery led to some gorgeous photography. My favorite part of the assignment though, was shooting the portraits of Tim. He had just come from a class he was teaching at the studio in his normal work attire and it really gave us a genuine look into how Tim is defined by his work. For the event photography I'd have to say my favorite images were the wider angle pictures, which showcased the whole space. I wanted the focus to be the artwork and the space, yet still show the energy and movement.
